Tasty but nutritious, wholesome food; that’s what we’re all about here at Keep Fit With Kyri.
What better way to start the collection then with one of my favourite spots to eat, The Athenian.
With hubs in London and Bristol and growing rapidly, they offer a tasty menu of freshly made souvlaki prepared in the healthiest, most authentic way possible!
As a London born Cypriot myself, these foods are a big part of my childhood and is why I will always incorporate their meals into my diet whether I’m bulking or cutting.
Today we are going to take a closer look at one of the items on their menu, my favourite, the Chicken Gyros Box!
Just looking at this image gets my mouth watering!!
We have a hand full of oregano fries, slices of pitta bread, shavings of chicken marinated in herbs, lemon juice and olive oil, a side salad, tzatziki sauce and their homemade Athenian sauce!
Doesn’t get any better then that!
Carbs aren’t provided on their nutritional menu but protein and fats are, so a quick calculation provides us with the correct carb amount:
– 750 calories
– 35g Protein
– 24g Fat
– 99g Carbohydrates
Definitely a heavy meal so if you’re cutting, you might not have a lot of calories to play around with for the rest of your day. But you could reduce the carbs but substituting the fries and pitta bread for their courgette fritters.
They also have meat free options so don’t be discouraged by the stereotypical meat eating culture of the Greeks!
